Privacy Policy

1. Data We Collect

• Shop data — Your Shopify store domain, plan tier, settings (fix mode, quota counters), and install/uninstall timestamps.
• Content data — URLs found in your product descriptions, pages, and blog articles. We do not store the full content of your pages — only the URLs extracted from them.
• Scan results — Broken or redirecting links discovered during scans, along with AI-generated fix suggestions and their confidence scores.
• Session tokens — Shopify OAuth session tokens used to authenticate API requests on your behalf.
• Website analytics — The tryrelink.app marketing website uses Google Analytics to collect anonymous visitor data such as page views, traffic sources, and session duration. This data is not linked to your Shopify store or account.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To scan your store for broken links and surface fix suggestions.
• To apply fixes to your store content when you (or auto-fix) requests it.
• To track your plan quota and billing status.
• To send broken link data to our AI provider solely for generating fix suggestions. We do not share your data with third parties for any other purpose.

3. AI Processing

Broken link data (the source URL and the target URL that returned an error) is sent to our AI provider to generate replacement URL suggestions. This data is transmitted over HTTPS. No personally identifiable customer information is included in these requests. The AI provider processes this data solely to generate suggestions and does not retain it for training purposes.

4. Data Storage

All data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted in the United States. Scan history and broken link records are retained for the lifetime of your installation. You may request deletion at any time — see Section 6.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. Data is shared only with the following sub-processors necessary to operate the service:

• Supabase — PostgreSQL database hosting
• Upstash — Redis job queue (stores job metadata transiently, not content)
• OpenRouter / Google Gemini — AI suggestion generation
• Vercel — Application hosting and serverless functions

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you or your customers are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about your shop
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
• Object to or restrict certain processing

When you uninstall the app, Shopify sends us a deletion request. Upon receiving this, we delete all scan records, broken link records, and shop settings associated with your store within 48 hours.

7. Cookies & Tracking

Marketing website (tryrelink.app) — This website uses Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous usage statistics including page views, traffic sources, and session duration. Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) that persist for up to 2 years. You can opt out via the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by adjusting your browser’s cookie settings.

We also load fonts from fonts.googleapis.com (Google Fonts). This involves a request to Google’s servers, which may log your IP address. No persistent cookie is set by Google Fonts.

Shopify app — Relink is an embedded Shopify app and does not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies. We use only the session cookies required by Shopify’s embedded app authentication.

8. Children’s Privacy

Relink is a business-to-business service intended for Shopify merchants. We do not knowingly collect data from or about individuals under 16 years of age.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify active merchants via the app dashboard when material changes are made. Continued use of Relink after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
