Fix modes

Fix Mode controls what Relink does after a scan finds broken links. There are three options, and the right one depends on how much you want to trust the AI by default.

The three modes

Settings · Fix Mode
Review
Default. AI suggestions sit in a queue until you approve each one.
Default
Auto-fix
High-confidence AI matches are applied immediately. You can still revert any of them.

Review mode

The default for every new install. After a scan, broken links land in the Open queue and stay there until you click Apply fix on each row. Nothing on your store changes without your explicit click.

When to use it

  • You're new to Relink and want to see what the AI picks before trusting it.
  • You have a small store and want to eyeball every fix.
  • You're running on Free or Pro and want full control over which fixes get applied.

Workflow

  1. Scan finishesOpen broken links populate in the dashboard table.
  2. Click a rowThe drawer opens with the AI's suggested replacement.
  3. Apply, ignore, or overrideEither accept the AI pick, swap it via the autocomplete, ignore the row, or remove the anchor.

Auto-fix mode

Relink applies every suggestion the moment the scan finishes. Source HTML is patched and Shopify redirects are installed without a human in the loop. Every action is still logged and one-click reversible on the Fix history page.

When to use it

  • You've used Review mode for a few scans and trust the AI's picks.
  • You have a large catalog and don't want to click through dozens of rows weekly.
  • You're running daily scheduled scans and want them to land fully resolved.

Safety

Low-confidence AI picks are not auto-applied — they're routed to the Open queue for manual review. Heuristic and exact-handle matches are auto-applied at any confidence.

Redirect-all mode

Business plan only. Every broken link redirects to a single Global Redirect URL you set in Settings. The AI is not consulted; no per-link analysis happens.

When to use it

  • You're doing a large catalog overhaul or rebrand and want any stale URL to land on a hub page (e.g. /collections/all).
  • You want a uniform 301 strategy regardless of source URL.
  • You're prioritizing simplicity over topical relevance.
Trade-off

Redirect-all is the bluntest option. Google treats a redirect to an unrelated page as a "soft 404" — useful for crawl health but not for preserving topical authority. Use it as a fallback, not a primary strategy.

Switching modes

Change Fix Mode at any time in Settings → General. The change applies to future fixes — already-applied or already-queued fixes aren't reprocessed.
