Settings

Open Settings from the app menu. It has three tabs: General, Scan & detection, and AI agents. This page is a reference for the first two.

Controls the overall behaviour of fixes.

Fix mode

Pick how Relink handles broken links after a scan. See Fix modes for the full breakdown. Quick summary:

  • Suggest fixes for me to approve (default) — nothing on your store changes until you approve a fix.
  • Fix high-confidence links automatically (Pro and Business) — strong suggestions are applied after each scan. Unsure links go to a related collection or your homepage, and links with no related page are removed. You can undo everything except a removal. You can’t undo a removal.
  • Send every broken URL to one fallback page (Business) — Relink sends every broken link to your fallback page.

Fallback page

Business plan only. The one page Relink uses when:

  • You’re on Redirect all mode (Relink sends every broken link here), or
  • You’re on automatic fixes and Relink is unsure of a link with no related collection. The fallback page takes the homepage’s place.

In Suggest mode the fallback page is not used.

Set it to a hub page that’s safe for any orphaned traffic — usually /collections/all or your homepage.

SEO note

A redirect from an unrelated source URL to your homepage is treated by Google as a soft 404. Useful for crawl health, not for preserving authority. Keep this as a fallback, not the primary strategy.

Scan & detection

Controls when the daily automatic scan runs and how detection behaves.

Business

Daily scan hour

Pro and Business. Pick any hour from 00 to 23 in your store’s time zone (the one set in Shopify admin → Settings → General). The schedule follows daylight saving. The default is 06:00. Stores in a half-hour time zone scan at :30.

  1. Pick a low-traffic hourScans don’t affect storefront performance, but choosing off-peak is a habit worth keeping.
  2. SaveThe change takes effect from the next hourly tick.

Second daily scan (Business)

Business stores get a second automatic scan at 18:00 UTC. Useful for high-velocity catalogs where 24 hours between scans is too long. Not configurable — always 18:00 UTC — so you get two diverse time windows.

Permissions & scopes

Relink uses the following Shopify Admin API scopes. You can review them at any time under Apps → Relink → App permissions in your Shopify admin.

  • read_products, write_products — read product and collection descriptions, and change links in them when you apply a fix.
  • read_content, write_content — read blog posts and change links in them.
  • read_online_store_pages, write_online_store_pages — read pages and change links in them.
  • read_online_store_navigation, write_online_store_navigation — add and remove Shopify URL redirects.

Uninstalling

Uninstall from Shopify admin → Apps. On uninstall:

  • Your redirects stay. They live in Shopify, not Relink.
  • Your scan and fix records are deleted when Shopify sends Relink its data deletion request after you uninstall. See the privacy policy.
  • You can reinstall any time — past redirects remain, but Relink starts a fresh history.
